Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, contact details, programme choice, learning and education history, application responses, payment preference and correspondence with us. We also collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as IP address, browser details and form-security records.
Why we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries; assess and administer applications; make and manage offers; enrol and teach students; collect fees; maintain appropriate academic and administrative records; protect the website against misuse; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and do not use application information for marketing unless you have separately chosen to receive updates.
Our legal grounds
Depending on the situation, we process information because it is necessary to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, to perform our agreement with you, to meet a legal obligation, or for CAIS’s legitimate interests in running a safe and effective educational institution. If we need a separate legal condition for particular information, we will explain this at the point of collection.
Who can see it
Your information is accessible only to authorised CAIS personnel and trusted service providers who need it to support the purposes above, such as website hosting, email, payment and administrative services. They must protect it and use it only on our instructions. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect someone’s vital interests, or in connection with a safeguarding concern.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we will use appropriate safeguards required by data-protection law.
Retention
We keep application information for the admissions cycle and a reasonable period afterwards to handle enquiries, decisions and legal or administrative matters. If you enrol, we retain your student record for the periods required for educational, financial and legal purposes. We securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information, and you may object to certain processing. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first and we will do our best to resolve your concern.
Cookies and changes
This website currently uses only essential session cookies for form security and operation. If we introduce analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will provide an appropriate notice and choices before they are used. We may update this Policy from time to time; the latest version will always appear on this page.
Please do not include health, financial or other sensitive information in a general enquiry unless CAIS has asked for it. This Policy should be read with our Terms, Fees and Refunds Policy.
